Celtic manager Neil Lennon scouts Serbian defender Strahinja Pavlović

Celtic manager Neil Lennon has reportedly been scouting Serbian defender Strahinja Pavlovic, after he was photographed attending the Partizan Belgrade v Connah’s Quay Nomads Europa League tie last night.

Lennon, who is looking to strengthen Celtic’s defensive options, watched the 18-year-old as Partizan ran out 1-0 winners in Wales.

The 6ft 4 in centre back, who can also play as a defensive midfielder, made his senior debut with Partizan in February and has been capped at Under-17 and Under-19 levels for Serbia.

Despite previously being tracked by Juventus previously and a reported €5m move earlier this summer on the cards, nothing has materialised and it looks like Lennon could be getting in there first to snap up the towering defender’s services.

With two years remaining on his contract Celtic would almost certainly need to spend around £4 million to snap up the youngster and would ultimately spell the end of Jack Hendry’s Celtic career.

If Pavlović does indeed sign for Celtic, he would be Neil Lennon’s FIFTH summer signing following on from Luca Connell, Boli Bolingoli-Mbombo, Christopher Jullie and Hatem Abd Elhamed.
