Is Greg Taylor inching towards Killie exit?

Kilmarnock full back Greg Taylor is not part of the Rugby Park’s side for Saturday’s league game against Aberdeen.

Linked with a move to Scottish champions Celtic and German side Nurnburg, Taylor - who has had a £3 million price tag placed on him by Killie - pulled out of training on Friday afternoon with talks between Celtic and Kilmarnock ongoing over a deal for the Scotland international.

Despite being a boyhood Rangers fan, Taylor is keen on a move to Celtic - who are looking to strengthen their left back options with summer signing Boli Bolingoli still having plenty of work to do on his defensive game - after the departures of Kieran Tierney and Emilio Izaguirre this summer.

Taylor has played 131 times for Kilmarnock since breaking into the first team in July 2015, scoring once. He received his first Scotland cap this summer against Belgium after injuries to Kieran Tierney and Andy Robertson.

With the Scottish summer transfer window closing on Monday 2nd September, Celtic have under two weeks to make their move to further strengthen their side as they look to secure their ninth league title in a row and match Jock Stein’s record.
