St.Johnstone sign Anthony Ralston on loan

St.Johnstone have signed Celtic right back Anthony Ralston on a season long loan deal.

The 20-year-old joins the McDiarmid Park side after the departure of Richard Foster who left the club for Ross County after clashing with manager Tommy Wright earlier this month.

Ralston made his debut for Celtic in May 2016 in the 2-1 defeat to St.Johnstone. Since then he has made a total of 19 appearances for the Celtic senior side scoring twice. He had two spells on loan at Queen’s Park and Dundee United.

He came on as a substitute in Celtic’s 4-1 second leg win over AIK Stockholm in the Europa League, after Kristoffer Ajer went off injured.

His time at Celtic looks almost certainly up, despite two years left on his current contract, with manager Neil Lennon signing Hatem ElHamed and Moritz Bauer to replace Mikael Lustig and Cristian Gamboa who left at the end of last season.
