Could Olivier Ntcham start a bidding war?
Celtic midfielder Olivier Ntcham could be at the centre of a bidding war with Porto and Marseille interested in signing the French midfielder.
New Marseille boss Andre Villas-Boas is shaking things up with the Ligue One side following the sacking of Rudi Garcia and he has earmarked Ntcham as one player to target in what is expected to be a major recruitment drive by the French club.
Despite signing a new long-term deal with Celtic in November, Ntcham has struggled through injuries and a loss of form which has limited his game time after an impressive first season. Despite this, Marseille and Porto are still interested in the former Manchester City midfielder.
Porto had been linked with Ntcham over the past two transfer windows, but now they will have to do battle with a Marseille side looking to close the gap on Ligue One champions PSG next season - which could result in a bidding war, the perfect scenario for Celtic.
With three years remaining on his new contract, Celtic hold all the cards and can demand a sizeable transfer fee for a player they signed from City for £4 million two years ago.
If Marseille are successful in securing the services of Ntcham this summer, the midfielder could still face former Celtic striker Moussa Dembele - who completed a £19.7 million move to Lyon last summer - after a potential move to Manchester United hit the skids and with that a potential £3 million extra for Celtic through a sell-on clause.
