No Celtic return for Patrick Roberts

There will be no Celtic return for fan favourite Patrick Roberts after the Manchester City forward reportedly signed a season-long loan deal with newly promoted Norwich City.

Roberts, who was on loan at Celtic between 2016-18, was heavily linked with a return to Celtic Park this summer but he has decided to stay in England after a disappointing spell with City’s Spanish partner club Girona.

The 22-year-old is set to undertake a medical at Carrow Road, according to The Sun, before becoming Daniel Farke’s first signing of the summer transfer window.

With one year remaining on his contract, Roberts will be hoping that his loan spell at Norwich City is as successful as his time at Celtic to secure a permanent move come next summer.

The former England Under-20 international played 79 times for Celtic scoring 18 goals during his two loan spells with the Scottish champions, winning three Scottish Premiership titles, two League Cups and two Scottish Cups.
